I don't get much of a chance to get on the puter anymore, my wife Beck is the registrar for the 40th Anniversary Celebration next April at the Nashville Superspeedway. With about 6 more months to go before showtime we have over 800 cars already pre registered, we are expecting around 3500. Registrations can be made online or by mail. What really surprised me is that the Saturday evening with Ford on the "General Jackson" riverboat sold out last month. 700 seats at $70 a seat. Then we picked up a few hundred more seats on the top deck of the boat at a reduced price, but no program participation, and they are sold out. There is still slots for the open track events. Hotel rooms are far and few left. I think the Opryland Hotel still has rooms, they have reported over 1500 rooms already reserved with the 40th special rate. Will try to update on the other activities as the date gets closer. Mike

Thanks Mike.Just saw the ad for it in this month's Mustang Times, and will be sending out my registration soon (looks like the Ghia won't make it though...the '03 GT will be in attendance). Any word about hotel room availability? ------------------ Frank S.----MCA Member 40390 '03 Mustang GT coupe '99 Mustang coupe '77 Ghia--"II Good"

Mike, any room for spectators in a motor home? I was thinking about coming up and pulling my car and going to the races later. JS

Mike, Sounds like Becky has her hands full. There was some talk about the 40th not being able to pull the numbers that the 35th did. But obviously that hasn't happened. Have fun finishing Becky's mustang and don't forget to post some pictures for those of us that can't attend. Uncle Sam has other plans for me. Jerry-I'll check on Motorhome parking at the track. There are classes for Strictly Race cars. There was some talk with the guy that runs Fun Ford Weekends about having a mini event at Music City Raceway-1/8 mile track.Dave-the numbers for the 35th were way over inflated. The cars outside the track in the parking lots were added in. East Coaster are just upset because they have to drive farther than Charlotte. Of the cars already registered, I would say 80% are from outside a 300 mile radius of Nashville. Sam-We can propably get you rooms in the Nashville Rescue Mission pretty reasonable Mike

Mike, No problem with show site being moved. It's not about the location, it's about economics. Which makes a lot of sense. I have no problems with driving further, but it's hard to do when your in Europe or further east. Dave & Terri ------------------ '65 Mustang Fastback '02 Explorer XLT I don't suffer from insanity.
