Now this is my favorite Ford race car, featuring a 289 cid engine with the devine ability to produce a 0-60 of 3.5 according to HDR: http://www.hdrcoupe.com/html/PerformanceData.html

Here is another cool website that can tell you about the car: http://www.supercars.net

I saw the original 427 Daytona coupe at a Shelby convention in Monterey, CA in '81 (I think). As the driver pulled the car off the track and into the paddock area, there was a throng of people running through the pits behind the car trying to catch a glimpse. It came to a stop right in from of me in the midst of a bunch of real A/C Cobras that had just preceded it. There was a male passenger and he had a kid on his lap in the Coupe. The driver blipped the throttle and flames belched out of both sets of side pipes along with lots and lots of noise that rattled us deep into my chest (I was no more than six feet from the car). Those who were closer to the car than I got the hair burned off their legs and everyone tried to jump back at once. As the noise of the huge engine ceased, there was a spontaneous applause and cheering reserved for a major league homerun. What A CAR ! ! !

Trivia??? What movies were Daytona Coupes featured (or seen) in?
Starter answer. Red Line 7000 is one of them. Good flick for a FoMoCo fan.
