In the latest Street Rodder magazine there was a mention and a couple pics of someone restoring a ultra rare GT40 roadster?

when Ford was racing the GT-40's back in 60's there was a different clas for open cockpit {however you spellit} racecars so they made a couple GT-40's as roadsters, i do remember seeing them way back then.

Wasn't Gurney driving one of these roadsters and lost a knock off? It got picked up by a spectator that wouldn't give it back.

Two of the original Ford GT roadsters were in Monterey last year during Ford's 100th Anniversary celebration at Laguna Seca and Pebble Beach.

This is GT108:

and this is GT109:

GT109 was given to Dean Jeffries (famous California custom car builder from the 50's/60's) by Carroll Shelby in return for painting and helping with the first AC Cobras that Shelby put together in Dean Moon's shop.

I was watching a show and i saw that one of the gt-40's drivers was so tall, they had to make a little dome in the roof for his head... i wonder how much that thing would cost at an action. 1 of a kind gt-40

It might have been Dan Gurney. I remember reading how McLaren had to modify the roll-bar in their Can-Am car for his height so that he could fit for the race or two he drove it.

Yes, it even has the name 'Gurney bubble.'

The original GTs are all worth over a million each, I believe.
