Currently cars older than 1974 are exempt from smog checks. A proposed bill, Senate Bill 708, will change the exemption to cars more then 45 years old. This means a 1959 Ford will need to pass a smog check. And, I am sure many our 60s cars will fail the California smog test. Contact your state senator IMMEDIATELY to vote against SB 708. Put this on as many car web boards as possible. Tell every car nut you know in California to email, snailmail, phone, fax or show up in person to voice our concerns. Don't wait for someone else to do it for you or it may be too late. It comes up for vote on March 28, 2003. Log on to http://www.sen.ca.gov and enter 708 in the number box and click the button to read this proposed bill.

I heard Jay Leno called his senator to lobby against that bill. He's a pretty cool guy. ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 - '70 Mustang Convertible - '72 Mustang Sprint - '94 F-150
