I read on another board that the long lost Shelby Daytona Coup was found i the LA area. It's been in some womens garage for the past 35 years. Anyone hear about this?

Yeah I saw the article in several places. I don't know if people are in shock, or dis-interested, but no one seems to be talking about it... ------------------ Marcus "I have a lot in common with ducks. Ducks actually hate rain." -H. Stuck I need hits

You know I believe that a Daytona coupe that Carroll had to give up to a fellow who extended credit to Carroll sold at last years Montery auctions in Pebble Beach in excess of $4,000,000......Zowieeeeeeeee!!! And then you can add in the sales tax and DMV fees, auction fees and now you have a double zowieeeeeeeeeeee!!! Was it some fellow in Lousiana who bought it??

Thanks Marcus. Yes Sandy, the weathy fellow is from Louisiana. He was the one who was intervied on My Classic Car last Sunday. I heard that he had purchased it with the proceeds going to SHelby's heart foundation. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member Fleet of FoMoCo products Moneymaker Bio US Class Nationals link

Actually Alex...a friend of mine, who attended the auction, said that the seller was not Shelby but rather a fellow who had extended credit to Shelby for who knows what and that the car was collateral for the credit. Shelby had to turn the car over to him when he couldn't make the payment on the note. So as I hear it the seller was this guy to recover on the note. Anyway thats what I hear but who the frick knows for sure and I don't think Carroll is gonna tell me anything...LOL!!! Maybe a stipulation was that some of the funds had to go to the foundation.
