I have a question for one of you Shelby Guru's. My wife pointed out a Mustang she didn't recognize today. When I went to check it out, the license plate frame said 1970 Shelby GT500. I thought 69 was the last year of the Shelby, and these Shelbys were put together from left over parts from the Shelby production run. The car was bueatiful, and it was a convertable. It got my attention. It had Cobra snakes at the rear of the quarter panels. Would that be correct? I was just curious. Thanks.------------------ 1968 GT/CS 1965 C code Fastback (The Rust Bucket)

'70 "Shelby" is a leftover '69 that got renumbered. All Shelby Mustangs after '67 were built by Ford instead of Shelby American.

You can tell the '70 Shelby is actually a '69 Mustang by the ignition switch on the dash instead of the steering column.------------------ SteveLaRiviere/Webmaster -- MCA # 47773

'69 was the last year - '70s were '69 leftovers that were renumbered.
