My brother did something like that with a service loaner Escort a few years ago.

About 100mph and yanked the parking brake, skidded a mile and flatspotted the tires almost to the cord. He came to me saying the tires are thumping and he can't take it back like that. I advised him the tires are D shaped and they'll always thump if they aren't round. So he comes back an hour later, car smells like a huge rubber fire. the tires have the cords hanging out all the way around, and still thump! The entire undercarriage had rubber covering everything, he spent a couple hours cleaning underneath. $185 for two new tires fixed the thumping!

Worst i've ever done was flying the Pontiac 6000. The cross streets near Pomona have huge drainage gullys which we'd take a run at from a block away. Maybe had the car 4 feet in the air over some of them!

Hard to beat the "creativity" of the guys who rented 66 Hertz Shelbys, and turned them back in with a "more moderate" 289. It happened more than once!

I once knew a guy that would very cheaply install low-mileage 'used' engines in late-model cars that had blown engines.
Turns out he was renting new cars and switching the engines out to the customer's cars.
Did that for about 2 years or so, but got caught. Stiil in the pokey, I believe.

You're right, it isn't a GT. So much for truth in advertising! LOL

Yes, that's a V6. Note the base wheels, V6 only stripes in addition to the lightless grille.

But spuzzo and his boyfriends seem to think it's fast....
