Down to a 37% approval rating now. In a separate poll, 73% wanted Air Force 1 to return from Argentina without him. ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 351C 4V/FMX/3.25 Open '70 Mustang Convertible 250 I6/3 speed/2.79 Open '72 Mustang Sprint Hardtop 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac Loc '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip '05 Mercury Sable LS 3.0L DOHC 24V Duratech V6

Polls can say any number you want depending on how the questions are asked. I'd like to see a return to when news (and polls) were delivered by someone w/o an agenda ....... but that would put us back in about 1955 or so !!! For the record, I'm one of the 37%, flame on.------------------ Alan 66 Fastback 99 GT Convertible

Alan, I agree with you 100%! Heck, I'd be happy to see a poll that actually interviewd Americans located outside the Washington Post newsroom! ------------------ Greg W. Then there are the guys INTERPRETING the polls. I had to deal with a press release from an animal rights group recently, after it announced something like 70% of Americans did not "support" Canadian sealing. I looked at the actual poll and found that they had included a huge chunk that supported it under certain circumstances, but not under others. Only 12% or whatever actually opposed it!

Where do they hold these polls anyway??? I've yet to be asked a question about ANYTHING that has to do with what I see and read about.------------------ William "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog."

Polls are always flawed in that there's the inherent assumption that the person you are polling has a clue.------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 351C 4V/FMX/3.25 Open '70 Mustang Convertible 250 I6/3 speed/2.79 Open '72 Mustang Sprint Hardtop 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac Loc '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip '05 Mercury Sable LS 3.0L DOHC 24V Duratech V6

How come when I get a poor performance review, I don't get a raise and I am at risk for losing my job... but these politicians don't have the same standards? They are locked in for 4 years and can sit on their ass and do nothing without any reprisal.

I don't really care for Bush, but the though of Dole or Kerry getting into office gives me shivers! Heck, Kerry even had a real life, scumbag personal injury, ambulance chaser as a running mate!I wanted John McCain way back when he was against Bush in the primary. Bush's dirty tactics and money are all that got him that victory. McCain had practically NOBODY in his pocket. He's been the only good choice in the past two elections. Coulda' woulda' shoulda... georgeoff sr. is the REAL scumbag and was behind a lot of the dirty trick sh*t about McCain. In the gopper camp, nice guys don't win ball games. That's why some have given the current tribe in the White House the name Repugnicons...repugnant and cons. Not that fond of Kerry and Edwards but the real scumbags are in georgeoff's lair. Frist, Scooter, Delay, cheney, georgeoff, Rove. More rocks will be turned over. And to think that the righteous repugnicons made such a fuss over a bl*w*ob in the Oval Office and a blue dress. If this is born again Christian demeanor.................PASS!!!

TRUER YET!!!!! Sad, but true. Those that are smart enough to make a difference know what nonsense you must endure to even get to a place where you can start to make a difference. Very sad commentary on the future of public service. Want to help your community? Be prepared to open every aspect of your life up to the world to judge. you know that we are all on the outside looking in. you know that hindsight is 20/20. i voted for bush since he was the choice that most mirrored my views in general. he's done some things i dont agree with but he's much more conservative than the other choice. things i dont agree with: his imigration policy. either enforce the borders or go home. im not a big fan of a mission to mars. ted kennedy writting the education bill? harriet myers im sure was an intelegent lawyer. however the latest choice is right on. i liked his ideas about school vouchers a lot. despite tax money thrown at them hand over fist, public schools fail big time. im not some rich guy sending my kids to private school. i make 35k a year gross and it costs me 4k to send my kids to school. dont get sucked into the b.s. that republicans are for the rich guy, the "corporate interests". that's class warefare and it dont fly. i gave 5k to charity last year while paying taxes so i could prop up a million social programs that are bleeding heart failures. i grew up in a dirt poor neighborhood and joined the marines after high school to get out. i just really dont get the people that hate the president. but i understand being frustrated when you dont agree with him. to be honest a lot of people arent history buffs. many dont understand civics or how our govt. actually works. the same people get strong opinions by watching t.v. or reading a paper without realizing those editors are not unbiased. i cant tell you how sick i am of hearing about the deficit as being a bad mark on the president. congress spends the money, but media doesnt blame the congress. another thing, when has it ever been the supreme court's job to make law? there are 3 branches of govt. if you want to say "choice" as defined by N.O.W. or the ACLU is a right, then maybe we can get a court that will get down with the definition of "pursuit of happiness". im a conservative, and im sorry for the rest but there are many like me who feel exactly the same way. if you dont believe me, you havent noticed the election results. im not just refering to the presidential election. this isnt a monarchy. its just easier for people to blame one guy than it is to find facts and face the truth. now im done before i get on a soapbox and chase a rabbit. ------------------ "back then i could throw a football a quarter mile....i bet i could throw a football over those mountains."

Well said! The main thing to remember is you are never going to find a candidate that matches your views, unless you are the one who is running. The biggest thing for democracy to work is that every 4 years, you have to walk into the booth and cast the ballot. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Conservatives had to put up with 8 years of the Clintons. Liberals had to deal with 8 years of Reagan, 4 years of George H.W. Bush and 8 years of W. The best thing we can do is come 2008, vote early and vote often!------------------ Greg W.
