Saw it at 1.99 last night, needed gas, went through this morning to fill up, 2.13, at the same station. Should have filled up last night. What could possibly happen overnight to cause a jump that big?

Right now in this part of Canada, regular gas retails 99.9 cents per liters or approx. $3.10US per usgallon! And they say we can expect to pay as much as $1.25 per liter this summer! Rino

to be honest, the prices are high for sure. But I'd like it to just stay in one place so I can get my budget adapted. This changing daily is a pain.------------------ "It's better to have loved a short girl, Then never to have loved a tall" http://webpages.charter.net/adragon8u/mystang

Big oil awash in big profits Four biggest firms have earned $23 billion for the first three months of the year. SAN FRANCISCO -- Pumped up by persistently high energy prices, the oil industry maintained its streak of massive -- and growing -- quarterly profits last week, aggravating motorists and amazing financial analysts. "I have been following this industry for 18 years and I have never seen anything like this," said Oppenheimer & Co. analyst Fadel Gheit. "It's like they're printing money." The results of the world's four largest oil companies illustrate just how well the industry has fared lately. Since the end of 2003, Royal Dutch/Shell Group of Cos., BP Group PLC, Exxon Mobil Corp. and ChevronTexaco Corp. have earned a combined $97 billion, including $23.8 billion during the first three months of this year. Although crude oil future prices retreated below the important psychological threshold of $50 per barrel Friday, Gheit and other industry analysts expect the industry boom to continue, largely because the demand for energy is expected to grow faster than the supply. "As far as you can look out, things look pretty rosy for (oil) refiners," said Tom Kloza, chief energy analyst for the Oil Price Information Service in Wall, N.J. The bottom line for consumers: U.S. gasoline prices seem likely to stay above $2 per gallon through the summer -- traditionally the time when more drivers are hitting the road for vacations and burning up more fuel. Gasoline prices have climbed even higher since the oil industry closed the books on its first quarter, reaching a national average of $2.28 per gallon for unleaded regular grade last month. The national average stood at $2.24 per gallon Friday, a 24 percent increase from $1.81 last year. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,'03,'04 &'05 First NHRA & IHRA 289 automatic Superstock Mustang in the TENS 06-99 First SS/MA in the TENS 04-03 IHRA division 5 Superstock Champion Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked." WTF? So much for the theory that the Saudi's and Venezuelians are the ones banking the higher prices. What do we need to do to make the oil companies simply drop prices and stop robbing us?

Ironically, that's abut the same percentage that gasoline prices have gone up in the same period. I'm all about capitalism and making profits, but if they kept it at something reasonable, like say, 10%, they'd have still made 2 billion dollars profit and we'd be paying an average of about $1.50 a gallon.

Remember the group name "Dicky Do and the Don'ts"?? A "SLIGHT" modification of that group name fits Cheney and the Oil Racketeer Buddies that were a part of his secret energy group. DICKY DO AND THE DO'S. DO WHATEVER THEY F****** please with oil prices WITHOUT vaseline!!! Criminal is an understatement. Every time I see that p**** I want to puke. Ever notice how he talks out of the corner of his mouth. like the guy on Maxwell St. in Chicago. "Hey buddy, wanna buy some dirty peectures"!
