we took my race car to the dyno shop yesterday..... the shop is smack-dab in the middle of downtown.... on about the fourth pull a city officer drives by the shop super slowly .... um ..... slowly as in he stops and parks and gets out of his vehicle ..... he said he kept hearing a loud car that sounded like it was absolutely flying around the streets and he had been driving and looking for quite a while trying to hunt it down ..... heh heh heh ..... guess he must usually work nightshifts when the shop is closed eh?? anyways, the dyno-owner said that was the first time ever the police had shown up at the shop ....... hmmmmm .... it seems .... once again ..... notoriety takes its toll heh heh heh kk .... whew! that was close ..... i had even left my bail money at home .... teeehehheheee

Gee KK, does trouble always know how to find you or what??? Sounds like you had a good day. Now where is the rest of the story??? Like what did the dyno have to say??P.S.: Spotted a '62 Ranchero, on the road Friday, with a For Sale sign in it. Looked like the original owner was driving it also. Great shape. Made us both think of you. It's listed in the Auto Trader. We know. Just what you need. Another vehicle. heh heh heh actually, i was recording the dyno pull when the officer pulled up.... unfortunately the brightness of the outside whited-out being able to see his ride approach .... there is movement by a vehicle in the background but dang it.... you can not see anything but a hint of it!! he was nice enough.... complimented us on the car and he had a great sense of humour! welp..... my mild little windsor got the following results: hp to the rear wheels - 331.4 hp thru the flywheel - [approx]414.25 torque to the rear wheels - 400.5 we backed the timing off a bit and changed jets and spacers..... she really liked the timing being changed.... it was that action that allowed us to pick up 11hp [rear-wheel].... we also gained about 22.5 hp [rear] and 20 ft/lbs from about 5200 - 6000 rpm ..... we are anxious to see what kind of results we may gain from that ..... from what i almost-sorta-maybe understand, my converter being as loose as it is encourages the numbers to be as they are ..... hopefully we will see a slight decrease in ET next time we make her to the track ...... [currently 7.60's] ..... dave and terri.... another rancho would be fun fun fun..... but man oh man .... i just think we cant take on another ~anything~ right now ...... sigh!!! truth be told ..... we just bought a two-car-open-trailer ..... so i reckon all my dancin days will be on the trailer in the driveway for a while .... heh heh heh ..... now if i can just figure out how to keep the county sherrif ~ahem~ distracted ..... teeheheheheheeheheeee kk edit = typo fixed [This message has been edited by kwazykat (edited 03-27-2005).]

Yep. It was fat like Kirstey Alley when we first strapped it down. I leaned it out, a bit too much at first, but it didn't change the power output. So I fattened it back up a little. It had a 1/2" 4 hole wood spacer on it originally. After we got the jetting where we wanted it, we swapped the wood spacer for a plastic 4 hole 1" spacer and it made no difference. So we took it off and stuck a 1" open aluminum spacer on it. Once again, it made no difference. All pulls were within 2 hp of each other. So we stuck a little timing in it, bumped it up to 35-36* (previous pulls were made with 33-34* timing.) It made no difference. So we lowered the timing to 30*, and that made a difference. It picked up a bunch of power thru the midrange. Just shows that more timing isnt always better.
