At the local pull-a-part. Buddy and I went down there looking for a gas tank for his Corrolla that he plans to turn into a drift car. Didn't find one so we went walking through the classic and Ford section. Saw a stripped Checker Marathon.. neat car. But ended up seeing two Mustang II's and one of 'em was a mach 1. At least it had the stenciling down the side. Unfortuanetly the car had been ransacked. It'd been gone through completely. Looked like it could of easily been saved though. Hate to see cars like that just sitting there. But what was so special about the II mach 1 vs the normal II's that were produced?

Mach 1s had some better suspension mostly, and the forged aluminum 5-slot wheels. And the graphics on the side. That's really about it. Came with at least a V6; no 4-cylinders for the Machs. They also had a unique VIN code, unlike the Cobra IIs or King Cobras.------------------ Frank S.----MCA Member 40390 '03 Mustang GT coupe '99 Mustang coupe '77 Ghia--"II Good"
