"Make it a hurricane before I go insane. It's only half past twelve, but I don't care; It's five o'clock somewhere."I'm not any kind of country fan, by a long shot...but that song by Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett, "It's 5 o'clock Somewhere" is quite the catchy tune. IMO, anyway. ------------------ Frank S.----MCA Member 40390 '03 Mustang GT coupe '99 Mustang coupe '77 Ghia--"II Good"

Some Beach.....Some where......(makes me snicker when I hear it......Great song)..... Alan and Jimmy are certainly onto something though....Gives a man (or woman) poetic license to toss back a few at virtually ANY time of day.....because.....its true....Its 5 o'clock Somewhere!!!

Short story made long... Last year in May my dad was diagnosed with cancer and had surgery and began chemo. He lives in Fernadina Beach on Amelia Island, FL. I went and spent a month with him immediately after getting home from the 40th in Nashville. While there I was extremely home sick. But one day saw in newspaper that there was going to be a Mustang show in Jacksonville which is pretty close to my Dad's. I took the day, borrowed my Dad's car and went to the car show. It was TERRIBLE! Not the cars, but added to my loneliness. None of my friends, none of my family, none of my cars. Very melancholy day. THEN... from across the show field I heard Jimmy Buffet's Cheeseburger's in Paradise song. There was a live band playing. They sounded awesome. The song was a real pick me up, even though I had not previously been a real Jimmy fan. Something about it just made me feel better. Shortly thereafter I bought Jimmy's "Licensed to Chill" CD. LOVE IT! Gave my copy to Big D, and bought another. He's really grown on me. I just finished Jimmy's book "A Salty Piece of Land." Great read. If I wasn't already paid up to go to Alaska this summer, the book would have me running off to the Carribean or Bahamas. Great story. Highly recommend. He's a fabulous writer. Mike's 50th B-day is coming up in a few weeks. So naturally I just bought Jimmy's book "A Pirate Looks at Fifty." Story he wrote about taking his family on a three month cruise for his 50th birthday. So yeah, I like the 5 o'clock song too. But I have been a long time Alan Jackson fan. No apologies for being a country fan! J.

Buffett is awesome, I got lucky enough to get some great seats to go see him for my 16th B-day and man, what a way to turn 16 it was. One of the best shows I've ever had the pleasure of going to. Never been a huge Alan Jackson fan though, but I'm just starting to get into the country music though.

Been a Parrot Head for numerous years now. Blame my older Uncles for introducing me to Jimmy at a young age. Great music that almost anyone can listen to, no matter what your tastse in music is. Always puts one in a better mood. If you ever get a chance to see Jimmy in concert GO. You will love it. I have the DVD of that 5 o'clock performance, it's great. There are a few of us at work who wear tacky Hawaiian shirts every day instead of the corporate polo shirts. Just a little bit of our own paradise in this crazy world. ------------------ reliving youth
