My dad is finally getting the surgery for his esophagus cancer on Monday. Took him for the pre-op yesterday, the things they told us would have me running for the hills, but he is going through with it.

It's been one heck of a roller coaster ride for the last year. He had never had even a stitch before last year. In one year he has had, prostate surgery, feeding tube install, chemo port install, chemo, radiation, blood infection from surgery, double bypass and more scans and x-rays than we can count. But this one is the biggie, 6 to 8 hour surgery followed by 2 weeks in the hospital and 4 or 5 months of recovery.

My truck project will be put on the back burner for a while, I'll still keep gathering parts so I'll have something to do when I get time.

He's doing good, doc said he is ahead of schedule as far as his recovery.
This morning he was awake and trying to talk, kept asking where my mother was, she passed away 18 years ago, he's still pretty doped up.
I'll be headed back to the hospital in a couple of hours. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers.

They removed 70% of his esophagus and 35% of his stomach, his stomach now resides in his right lower chest.
Stuart.
