Regular has jumped the $2 per gallon mark in a big way, went from 1.95 on Saturday, to 2.06 this morning. Prices had been hovering around the 2 buck mark for a couple of weeks.

I know a lot of you are way higher than that, but it's a first around my area of Atlanta.

Maybe buying that slug of a truck was a good move, 4 cylinder Ranger gets around 28 to 30 MPG.
Bet I could get a good deal on a used Lightning in the next few weeks.

Stuart, down here (Peachtree city, Griffin) Most places have been at 2.06 or more for a week. Seems like Fayetteville and Douglasville are always about 5 or 10 cents cheaper. I didnt notice if ours went up this morning.

I too am glad i get about 30mpg, but I can also remember what it was like when i lived less than a mile from work, I could have driven a Hummer to work and still would be paying less than I am now. Between my car and my wifes car I think we are spending about 200 a month on gas - both cars get around 30mpg.

This week is the first time I've seen regular for over 2 bucks around home. It took $28 to fill the Ranger, I'd be crying if I still had the F150, would take about $60 or $70 to fill it up to go less miles.
I can get 360 miles out of a tank now, the F150 would get 340 out of the dual tanks.

Luckily, my wife only drives about 15 miles round trip every day, that helps our gas expense some.

I paid $1.85 on Sunday and noticed this morning that most places were up in the $1.95-$2.05 range by me.

$2.16 for regular here. Glad I am driving a Ranger that gets 20-22 miles per gallon. It did take $30.00 to fill the tank. .

Most of the stations at the I-65 exits are around $2.05. A couple of local 7-11 types that are farther away from the interstate are at $1.99. I was planning on getting the Kcar out this weekend, I don't think so now.

It hit 2.01 by me; then shot right back down within ad day to 1.98. Now its about 1.96.

The fluxuation is what boggles my mind. I was in Marion IL this weekend and when I got there Friday night gas was 2.19 at one gas station; and when I left Monday morning it was 1.98, thats a heck of a drop!

What I don't understand is Friday night at 10:00 ALL gas stations jumped to 2.09. Saturday I filled up 93 octane at 2.27. This morning they are all below 2.00 for regular. How can it change that quick other than a weekend?

I heard somewhere that they change the price gradually when the oil prices change. This means that if they left the prices alone and the new shipment of gas was quite higher the gas would change .20 instantly. Instead they change it slowly in hopes you do not notice so quickly. Same when it lowers ( ha ha) they do it slowly to average out. At least that is one theory I heard somewhere.

A week ago I noticed the gas station near work was $1.99 when I went in to work. Six hours later it was $2.04. Almost all stations around Nashville Tennessee are at $2.09 for regular now. I used to see as much as 15 cents difference around the area.

1 gallon [US, liquid] = 3.7854118 liter, so it's not as bad as you think. {it's roughly $4.50/gallon for you}

Is that at your next door neighbors house or three doors down?
At the gas station the other day a guy was filling his motor home and it was over $200. He said it would only get him to Glamis and he would have to refill to get home. Not bad for a 3 hour motorcycle trip.

I dont have any clue what gas is around here i think i paid 2.05 for cheap crap form a shabby station. Why is this **** happening. Is there really nothing we can do to get this straightend out. I thought we live in a democracy. I think Im gonna send a letter everyday to Bush Or find someone maybe like my state senator and send them to him. there has to be something. in 2002 the average price was around 1.30 a gallon for regular. today 2 bucks or more. It is getting rediculous. Im glad I picked up the tbird that will get me 35 miles a gallon which is better then the 17 from the stang. Im gonna buy a nice road bike for 500 bucks and from what I dont waste in gas the first year will make up for the purchase of the bike. so then the next year i will save 600 bucks the way prices just hike up. it is sad that this is happening wish i could just understand better.

It's almost time to start running race gas in the street vehicles. I think the 100 octane stuff at the track is cheaper.
