it's a car you couldn't pay most men to sit in or drive, let alone own it.

When it was a special order color the data plate info for color was left blank. The 6 digit DSO indicates it was a special order. Even the '66 shop manual dos not list a color code for Pink, but it was available thru special order. Since records don't exist like the Marti reports for 67 and up, there really is no way to tell how many were made, so that part of his description is a bit of fantasy. Scott

It takes a very special person to own a pink car! Nothing wrong with PINK! It's a nice, light, soft, happy color. It makes you feel good. Nice things are colored pink. Babies, sunsets, cotton candy, bubble gum, flowers...No one can say how many pinks were made. Absolutely no record. The six digit DSO signifies a special order color, but not what color, it could have been anything. If my 66 coupe, were not pink she would have been coke cans by now. She was rescued from the junk yard and crusher by Mike, who bought her for me just because she was pink. If that car in the junk yard had been blue, white, red or any other it would be history. One of my funniest memories was when PINKIE was first restored Mike and Mike Jr. were test driving her for me. I was following them somewhere in another car. They stopped at a very busy intersection. There was a group of people coming out of a restaurant that stop and pointed and stared unbelievingly at these two big hunky guys sitting in my pink stang. My guys are men enough not to be fearful or ashamed of something so stupid as color. Just ask several M&Mer's who know that Mike drove my PINKIE from SLC to Reno for the M&M gathering there in 2001. I once had a pink 66 convertible. When Mike took it apart, it had factory grease pen writing on the outside of the fender apron "PUSSY WAGON." Funniest thing I've come across in these ol' stangs. We were in a financial pinch and sold it to a college professor. He had it painted RED! Shame! Funny thing at shows, is how many MEN tell me they like my car. But of course it is always where no one else can hear them. I can't agree with several things said about the car in the auction. It is a special car, but not more than most other Mustang convertibles. J.

Geez, and it's in Australia... Even if it is in pieces, wonder what'd it cost to ship over here if you were brave enought to buy it

I saw mention of a car sized shipping crate costing something in the nature of $1000 FOB to a major port, then you would pick it up there. I'm not sure how accurate that figure is, though. I'm sure there'd be governmental hoops to jump through, too.------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 351C 4V/FMX/3.25 Open '70 Mustang Convertible 250 I6/3 speed/2.79 Open '72 Mustang Sprint Hardtop 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac Loc '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip
