I'm sure this is bogus but I haven't figured out how it works or why...I got an email saying thanks for your Ebay bid and your paypal payment, I will ship your item soon, please remember to leave positive feedback. It also gave an item #. I haven't bid on anything from this emailer, my paypal account hasn't paid out anything, and I searched for the item # just in case they sent me someone else's email by accident, but the item is non-existant. So what gives? I'm sure they are trying to get me to respond to their email, but why? Scott

Check with ebay security. It sounds like one of those scams where scammers use another person's identity to purchase an item, get it shipped, then cancel the PayPal payment leaving the seller to email you with a WTF? email. Maybe this is just a test to see how attentive you are.------------------

I don't know what they could have purchased, the item # doesn't come up and it doesn't show I've made any purchases with this seller with my Ebay name.

They could be testing if you'll respond or ignore it. I'd forward the email to ebay's security department or [email protected]------------------

Follow Steve's advice and contact e-bay security. They will block the e-mail.
I get one of those a week along with the over payment offers!  ------------------
