Damn Pine trees Our neighbors damn pine tree decided to drop a half dead branch on the top of our Explorer today. I wouldn't complain if it would have been small. But the sucker dropped an eight foot section, six inches in diameter right across the front edge of the roof line. Needless to say, we need a new windshield, several dents and scratches fixed. The neighbors were supposed to have gotten the pine trees removed last summer. So much for that idea. There goes $500.00 of parts money for the stangs. It should be Steve. But, there are three if not four generations living next door and getting a dime out of a turnup isn't going to be easy. Probably not worth the effort, but it's worth discussing with our insurance company. Sorry to hear that, Dave. I would at least try to go after the neighbors, might make them think again about their pine trees.------------------ Greg W. MCA #52100 2002 Laser Red GT Coupe 1991 F-150 XLT 4x2 5.0 Southern Maryland Mustang Club http://mustangsandmore.50megs.com/MembersPics/hwyman3.html

Got the estimaste to repair the explorer today. Almost $2,200.00. Could be more once the Ford Dealership really gets into things. It will take them about two weeks. Have to get a rental car while the explorer is in the shop. Enterprise does not carry Fords at all. So much for getting a Mustang for a couple of weeks. Oh well. I will get to tear up a chebby or a want-to-be dodge. Dave & Terri ------------------ '65 Mustang Fastback '66 Mustang Coupe '02 Explorer XLT Common sense isn't common anymore.

Wow, sounds like that tree did a number on you. My insurance company just finished spending $2,800 on my stang, so I feel your pain. I didn't even bother with a rental, since I drive the truck most of the time now anyway.------------------ Greg W. The Ford body shop said it will take about two weeks to get it done. Found some more damage today on the passenger side A pillar. Looks like they will have to cut out a section of roof and replace it also. I wouldn't bother with a rental, but I drive 40+ miles round trip five days a week to get to the ship yards. I don't need one of the stangs getting that kind of miles on it. Plus the area isn't the best. Insurance will cover the rental. So no worries there. I will keep you all posted.Dave & Terri ------------------ '65 Mustang Fastback '66 Mustang Coupe '02 Explorer XLT Common sense isn't common anymore.

Here is a way to even the score!!!Cut all the branches that encroach on your property!!! Pine tree is badly off balance..... Next time anything falls....it falls on their stuff not yours!!! Quite likely this is not legal, but a one sided pine tree would look kinda cool ------------------ Ed 1984 5.0L LX Conv My Homepage

Nice thoughts Ed. Good thing I don't own a chain saw and none were handy the other night. Other wise, there would have been three pine trees on someones house and it wouldn't have been ours. LOL I have calmed down now, but still hate them dang trees.Carole, you aren't funny. I could mention the lawn mower. Holy cow Dave! That is a real bummer. I agree with the neighbors being responsible for that. You shouldn't have to pay for that out of pocket or in the form of increased insurance premiums because you had to make a claim.BTW, um, ah, how many tress are overhanging the backyard? I don't recall very many, but I was about to email you about taking you up on the offer to park some vehicles in the backyard until we close on the house. I'd like to come up this wednesday and drop off the 68, the Mach 1, and the F-150. They'll be there a little over 2 weeks until we close on the 25th. Expect an email shortly...

Sam, The pine trees are to the right of the drive way out front. The back yard is pretty safe and your more than welcome to use the back yard. I tell you to call, but I'm on the boat with duty tonight. Terri is home and I'm sure that it won't be a problem. Terri will be home Wednesday also. So it's all good. I will tell her about later when I call her. I will also have her check out the e-mail. Explorer goes in the shop for repairs tomorrow morning. Two weeks to get it fixed. Not fun, but we will deal with it.Dave & Terri ------------------ '65 Mustang Fastback '66 Mustang Coupe '02 Explorer XLT Common sense isn't common anymore.

Actually Ed, it will be six vehicles to choose from: '65 Fastback, '66 Coupe, Sam and Casey's two Mustangs and F-150. Plus the added bonus of the rental. Speaking of the rental, what a fiasco this morning at Enterprise Car Rentals. I was suppose to get a Chubby Gimpala or a Puntiac Grand Can. But they didn't have any of the above available. So they offered a Chubby Cavilade that was getting an oil change. That didn't pan out. Next they offered a KIA (Killed in Accident) mini-van. Not NO. But H#LL NO. Finally they came up with the right answer. A 2005 Ford F150 Quad Cab FX4 truck with 3,200 miles on it. Got even better when they kept the standard rate instead of increasing it for a better vehicle. Just in time with the truck since there is this white stuff falling and the truck has four wheel drive. So many vehicles to choose from, but the weather isn't helping. Guess it will be someone else's truck. Folks don't know how to drive in the white stuff around here. Dave & Terri
