I was just watching - by accident - an Oprah program, and we got to talking about American icons that everyone claims to hate, but are nonetheless popular. Someone here on M&M likes nothing better than to watch Oprah while knocking back Taco Bells with a pack of Bud. Confess Jerry Springer / McDonald's / root beer would work as well in my book

I'm a fool for V8 juice. Everyone in the office goes eeeewww while my daily 46 oz bottle is on my desk. I hate veggies and it the only way I get my share of that food group. Now with three shots of Finlandia, a few squirts of Worchestershire sauce, a few squirts of McIlhenny's, a stalk of celery and you got breakfast. With all the BRIGHT Orange Furniture and Shag Carpet. I can't get enough of that "Deli" Macaroni and Cheese you get at safeway.... The Processed stuff that comes in a Big bag that they stick in the Microwave. Add some Crushed Red Pepper and MMMMMmmnn.... I love South Park and Other absolutely Tastless Humor (I miss the Bawdy Shop forum ). Gimme awhile and I'll come up with more... [This message has been edited by fordfan (edited 12-10-2003).]

Me too, you can have the orange and shag carpet. But I still love all the colors that the late 60's and early 70's cars came in. The mopars had some of the best colors. I like the color purple a lot. I like HOTDOGS with just mustard, not that red stuff or worst that MAYO. ------------------

I live on the opposite side of the clock from most folks because I work nights. My nights off after Mike goes to bed I stay up and watch all those gory "Who Dunnit" forensic shows. My favorite is City Confidential. If a bowl of ice cream and/or microwave popcorn is available while watching the shows, I'm in heaven.Sick! J.

Well, where do I start?I like listening to Rush Limbaugh, I like South Park, I really liked Bevis and Butthead, I think Jesse Ventura would make a good president, I agree with most of Ted Nugent's opinions, I like listening to Howard Stern, I like fast food, I enjoy watching weekend late night public television (you know, shows like Red Green, Red Dwarf, Fawlty Towers, Dr Who, etc) and I still listen to a lot of the late '80s early '90s metal bands. However, I never claimed to hate any of those things.

Ah ha! But that doesn't mean it isn't bad taste If you see how this thread started out, Oprah is one of the highest rated TV shows in the US, and it's definitely bad taste. I think out of all the examples I've read so far, the most shocking is WWE-RAW. It's so very very bad it's good, right? Is that the logic?

The man has a point. You can't use the logic '...many people like it, so it must be in good taste.' We prove that false time after time. {Look how popular the reality shows are, America faithfully tunes in to watch people eat bugs on a regular basis.} ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 351C 4V/FMX/3.25 Open '70 Mustang Convertible 250 I6/3 speed/2.79 Open '72 Mustang Sprint Coupe 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac Loc '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip

We used to wrestle on the floor with them. and My wife turns Oprah on from time to time and although I don't watch it, I do highly respect my wife's opinion on ANYTHING. so there you have it, maybe it's actually good taste and your missing it.

That sounds plausible to me. It seems that most of those folks that really like "trailer park rock", or either old, or too young to know any better.
