My buddies and I were talking about convertables yesterday and we realised (we think) that GM dont make a vert other than the Corvette...Is this really true? How stupid is that? they obviously used to make the F body but they also made budget verts out of the Pontiac sunfire and the Chevy Cavalier. If you want a budget convertible or one with 4 seats you better go buy a mustang or a chrysler sebring (which I have driven and is a POS with no power at all) Have GM made a screw up here? Is the Vert business so small they can ignor it? Just some thoughts Phil ------------------ '68 coupe 289 C code 66 heads, edel 600cfm carb, performer intake, dual exhaust

They are making the new Caddy as a convertible, using the Corvette platform and the Northstar engine, I believe. But it's hard to explain many things GM does. Like how could they ruin the Camaro/Firebird to the point that sales got so low they had to drop them from production? ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 - '70 Mustang Convertible - '72 Mustang Sprint - '94 F-150

The new Caddy shares the plant with the Corvettes. They have been floating around town for quite a while now. The exterior line are way too sharp, I'm afraid to touch one, I might cut my fingers. Allante, here we go again Mike

So in other words they will have a caddy and a vette sharing platforms. The vette may well end up being cheaper at about 60k.So everybody that earns anything like the national average salary has to buy something else like a mustang, or a sebring or an import. Im not trying to tell GM their business but it seems odd to me. Maybe the trend will return to verts after global warming really kicks in? ------------------ '68 coupe 289 C code 66 heads, edel 600cfm carb, performer intake, dual exhaust
