Pam's Probe does that, too. Well, it will actually creep back up as you drive it, but it takes a while.

I wouldn't worry to much if you don't get it taken care of in time. The most recient recall isn't a saftey issue. Otherwise there would be no experation date. The recall is for customer satisfaction only. Firestone has such a bad rap these days that ford decided they would pull them from all their SUV's. Though, you'd probably be surprised at the number of chevy owners and nissan owners we get into work asking for free replacement tires. No sir, sorry, this is a ford recall ONLY. The joys of working at a tire dealer....heh. But, they actually are pretty decient tires, and unless you have some serious dry rot, or signs of possible tread seperation(which I doubt, unless you have a VD in the DOT code, which was covered under the original recall last year) you should be fine. Just make sure you keep enough air in them. But as far as ford has made us aware, this is NOT a saftey recall. So don't freak if you can't meet the deadline.

Fishtail, I don't think it's very smart telling people not to worry about a recall. Yes it's true that there are very few of these bad tires out there but I wouldn't be able to sleep if I told someone not to worry and something happened. Ford didn't spend 13 million because there wasn't really a problem. I don't think you gave such good advice. The reason they put an expiration date on them is becasue Ford surveyed customers that said they would wait until their tire wore out before they would get them replaced. That's why the put a time limit on them so people wouldn't be so stupid and wait. I can't believe the value some people put on their lives. RAY

I agree,Ray. I couldn't wait to shed those things. There was a very noticable improvement on our Explorer, especially in crosswinds. Now it doesn't change lanes.

Mike, last summer when we went to that car show in Fitchburg I couldn't believe how bad that Explorer was floating all over the road. I'm glad you guys ditched the Firestones.

I used to like Firestores, now I'd only use them for a rolling chassis.
