I'm thinking about putting a 99 Lincoln continental engine and abetter transmission(preferably 5 speed) in my 95 thunder bird.. I know there is a article on on doing a T-45 swap in this forum already, but what a about a newer tremec? and will i run into problems with my fwd intended engine? Most importantly, the engine i may get wont' come with an ecu, what should I do their?------------------ Driving fast is my anti-drug.

I'd pass unless you had a complete car to donate parts. These parts are big money to buy piece by piece.A fwd engine will be a pain to adapt, too. You'll need a different oil pan, exhaust manifolds, accessory drive, etc. ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 - '70 Mustang Convertible - '72 Mustang Sprint - '94 F-150 XL [This message has been edited by SteveLaRiviere (edited 05-29-2006).]

I'd try to find a donor car too. By 95, Ford had realized their mistake and started putting the 4.6 in the MN-12 Thunderbird/Cougars. It'll make your conversion much easier.------------------ Greg W. Or find a 93 to 98 Lincoln Mark 8 donor car. 290HP 4.6 DOHC in a t-bird friendly form. Manual trans conversion is $$$$$$.
