I'm new to this forum and have a question regarding an engine swap. My daughter has a 77 tbird(pink! of course) that I am attempting to put a 460 into.
I understand that the 77 was downsized onto either a Torino or LTD II chassis. I am tring to find some motor mounts for this and am wondering if anyone can help.
thanks

The 72/79 TORINO Intermediate Series (LTD II-ELITE-MONTEGO-COUGAR-77/79 BIRD)were all built on the same platform and the 460 was factory asm. in some. The swap should not be that difficult.

I am looking for information concerning factory performance/aftermarket speed parts (1958/1960) used on the MEL (Mercury-Edsel-Lincoln) (Also Thunderbird 59/60) Engine Series (383-410-430-462) produced from 1958 thru 1968.

Well its done. I fired it up last week with a cobbled together exhaust. No more than the usual "wonder where that goes type questions"
One big smile on the daughters face so it was worthwhile. This engine will get some more get up and go once she figures out what she wants so I will be asking more questions as time goes by.
All the best for 2006
