hey everybody.. i've got a few questions.
my daily driver fiero is going under the knife soon to begin it's v-8 swap. that means i'll be needing a new daily driver. the salvage yard i work at has a beautiful '95 (i think) thunderbird with a new 4.6 crate motor in it. the car was a customer's who never paid. it's been leined and we have a clear title for it. it can be mine for just under $1500, and i'm considering it.but i really don't know anyhting about ford vehicles, except that aerostars have bad trannys... but thats a story for another day.
back in '96 my father bought a '95 crown with a 4.6 and that seemed to be a pretty good car. what kind of reliability should i excpect from the 4.6bird?
is a car like this rare at all or are the 4.6s dime a dozen?
what kind of times (quarter mile/ 0- 60) do thay put down in stock trim?
are there any cheap junkyard upgrades out there for this car?
what kind of problems should i look for before buying?
and do you have any advice or information you think i need to know before making this purchise?
thanks for your help
