Mine isn't as nice as some of yours...yet! But I like it just fine and need some help with it. I have recently purchased, (for a real low price), and '81 T-bird Town Landau. It has the 302 ci, 4 speed AOD transmission, with the Recarro interior package. It has the factory ground effects(front spoiler) and a rear wing. Car is white but needs some TLC on the body. I plan on fixing it up... Anyway...to get to the point...I need help with the AOD tranny. It won't shift gears through 1st, 2nd, & 3rd, unless you accelerate rapidly. And the OD doesn't kick in. Once it is in 3rd, it will stay there until you slow below 30 mph. Also, when it is in 3rd, if you punch it, it does not kickdown either. I drained the trans and removed the pan. The oil was a little dark but not burnt. Just old...and there were absolutely no metal particles in the fluid. I know there are adjustments for the bands but are not sure where they are on this type. And as well I have read that the cable? may need adjusting. Can anyone give me any advice on these two adjustments? Thank you in advance and great site!!! I'll be back often... ------------------ Hedrednek ~~Damn! Chevy is innovative. They put heating elements in all the tailgates of their trucks so you don't freeze your hands when pushing them!~~
