My friend has a 55 bird. All original, 6 volt system. We are looking for a kit of some kind that would put out 6 volts like the generator, but be more user friendly,(Reliable!) like an alternator.

Do any of you guys know were we could find such a thing? Websites? Etc.?

Thanks in advance..

A good charging system will work if it's a generator, or an alternator, being an all original car might be good to keep it that way,
A good rebuild on the generator, a NEW regulator, and new battery cables, (6 VOLT CABLES) yes they are different, (bigger)
all of this will make it right, and should be reliable for many miles.
