I've always liked these. I think that's the proper terminolgy. Its a covertible with a fiberglass cover over the back seats that has molded headrests.I saw one last Summer that was absolutely spotless. Red, I'm not sure they made any other color, with wire wheels and a continental kit. I'm usually not crazy about those, but it looked really cool on this car. These had to be rare Birds. I can't remember seeing many when they were new. Does anybody have production figures on these or anything else? I tried one time to get some info. like that from Ford and they acted like they didn't know what I was asking them. Is anybody else familiar with this model?

Like this one? I know what you mean, the coverings fit over the back of the bucket seats. Those cars were ultra cool, they looked like spaceships. I may have some pics of one on my other PC, I'll look tomorrow when/if I get that beast to fire up again. ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 - '72 Mustang Sprint - '94 F-150 Be sure to remember our sponsors, Mustangs Plus, NPD, and Osborn Reproductions.

I've seen quite a few of them actually. Most of them were at car shows in AZ, but there is one around here, red of course.

That pic is of a 63 SR Steve. 63 T-Bird Sports Roadster is my all time favorite Bird. "M" code 340 HP Tri-Power 390, KH wire wheels, and the fiber glass tonnuea cover with the built in head rests. Sports Roadsters were built in 62, 63 and 64. The HP 390's were only available in late 62 and all of 63. The 63 "M" code SR is the rarest of them all with only 46 produced. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked." How much did they weight with a big block? Would a early 60's T-Bird hard top work in N.H.R.A. S or SS Alex? Roger------------------ 65 comet project 84 T-bird 302/C4 14sec street/strip Made in CANADA built for speed #1145
