I have a friend of mine that I just got off the phone with that built a 430 cid 9.5 block Stroker Windsor. It's around 10.8:1 or 11.0:1 with Dart cylinder heads and, I think, a World Products Man-O-War 4.125" block. Capable of ~ 4.180 overbore. His 1985 GT Mustang runs on Pump gas and so far his best ET is 9.90s at 130+ mph. Not only does he drive this car to the track but to work as well! Now this is one of the best Street/strip engine setups I've ever seen. Can you imagine the power potential of this combo bumping up the compression ratio a bit and a set of CHI, Blue Thunder or Yates cylinder heads, very impressive IMHO.

Buster, Your friend's car sounds very impressive, indeed! Of course we can assume he must run slicks at the track, but can you tell us what he has done to the '85 chassis to make all those HP hook up? Ryan

Believe it or not they are NOT slicks. I will post as much as I know about his setup soon. He has used two different cams and Ill post what I remember from the phone conversation, after everyone leaves from our second Thanks Giving dinner.

Also, the car is 3200lb with me in it and its a GT with t-tops.

Man! That's honkin' for a naturally aspirated pump gas streeter! I bet he pisses a lot of people off that run slower than him yet get trailered in A little nitrous and low 9s/high 8s?

Youre not kidding! In order to drive the car to the track and run 9.9s on pump gas and street tires is absolutely incredible. Brian, the owner of the car, designed the camshaft profile for his setup, which I believe contributes considerably to the numbers hes running. The most impressive street/strip setup Ive ever seen.
