Took my car to Silver Dollar Raceway in Reynolds Ga. yesterday with the new slicks. I had determined the car had too much tire on it with the 28x9 `s and so I got some 26x8.5 slicks to try. Best time was : 60ft. --- 1.790 1/8 th et --- 7.79 1/8th mph---89.49 mph 1/4 et ---12.20 1/4 mph --- 112.35 mph Best times with the old 28" tires was 12.45 @ 109.3

.25 is a lot of improvement. of course you added a little more gear by going with the shorter tires! ------------------ mike r racing is real everything else is just a game. 81 capri-302-7.25 @93mph 1/8 1.54 60ft 50 % of the fun dragracing is meeting people who will give you the shirt off their back to wipe the grease off your hands. Assuming your rearend ratio is still the same as you have posted in your gallery (4.11-1), it tells us that your combo is 'happier' running at the higher rpms as it crosses the stripe: With the previous 28" tall slicks and 4.11 gears you were running the 1/4 at 12.45 @ 109.3mph; putting you crossing the stripe at 5391 rpms. With the new 26" tall slicks 4.11 gears you ran the 1/4 in 12.20 seconds @ 112.35 mph, should be putting you crossing the stripe at 5967 rpms. http://users.erols.com/srweiss/calcrpm.htm Good Job! Ryan Remind us what cam, heads, carb, weight, etc. your running in that hot Mav!!
