Yes, as a matter of fact I know someone that competes with a Slopar. I went to one a while back, it was really cool. Other than a couple 428 cars, there were very few Fords though.

I believe the record now for the f.a.s.t series is a guy w/ a 1969 or 70 blue corvette, I read the article in one of the mags , he has a 427 if memory serves correct and my mouth about hit the floor when it said he runs 10.59 on freaking stock looking tires......

They're soaking the tires in traction compound. We ran in a True Radial class where you had to run regular street radials. Couldn't keep up, found out they were soaking tires.

"looked" like a 427. that car actually displaced like a 540 ci motor I think. It only has to look stock on the outside. More cubes = more cam but still retain a "stock " like idle quality = more POWER!!

Soooo...where could I get some of this traction compound? I'd never use it in a money race, but against my brother and his 69 Camaro I have no problem. I tried to call Ryan Newman but his phone number is not listed. ------------------ Keith 67 Mustang Coupe 351W C4 3:80 limited slip http://www.i62.photobucket.com/albums/h87/kleinhenz4202/P1010066.jpg

I know a couple of the guys in the northeast FAST class. Ralph Barbagallo (who seems to be in every issue of Hemming Muscle Machines) is a friend of mine, he runs the cruise at the Burger King on the 'Pike. Those two Mopars of his are pretty impressive. The burnt orange 'runner is a bought car and runs real hard. The black 'runner he built and is still working out the bugs. Ralph's got a killer collection of Mopars, check out his site. It's a little corny, but he's a true enthusiast. You should see his garage...http://www.ralphsrapidtransit.com/ BTW, the next FAST race is at E-town november 4th....

You definitely should go Steve. The cars are fully restored, not the usual drag rats. Most are guys that got bored with the show and cruise routine, decided to go racing for some fun. The class really needs more Fords, the Mopars are a little too numerous...I may compete my 71 in the class for fun, nothing serious.
