Well how's everyone? Good I hope.

I posted some questtions last winter regarding my 70 mustang with a 351C4V and everyone was very generous with their time and knowledge and let me assure you it all was greatly appreciated.
It's been awhile since I been on the forum as my PC decided to go into permanent retirement, now I have a new one and internet service so I'm back.

I was the guy who had oil pressure and cam problems after a complete rebuild. oil pressure issue was as KV and Dad suggested the two oil plugs were missing under the timing over near the sides of the cam galley.
Well the cam problem is why I'm back, the car is currently at a repair facility that also runs a machine shop so I figured I would try to return the favor of sharing info as the second rebuild progresses and hopefulley if someone in the future has a similar issue this may help.
When I purchased the vehicle it has a fresh engine with only o few thousand miles on it. I drove the car fairly little the summer after I bought it then the next spring it wiped out a couple lobes on the cam. We rebuilt the engine last winter at my dads shop (for the record my dad & brother are both proffesional technicians so the rebuild was performed with the guidance of two proffesionals) We fired the engine after priming (we did not have a pressure guage hooked up, we did see tons of oil dumping down the dist. hole so we figured all was normal (brother & dad are chevy guys). Well after firing the engine within somewhere around a minute to the best of my memory dad says shut it down, lifters sounded as if they were not pumping up. Then with Mustangs & more forum help I found the oil plugs missing, replaced those, great oil pressure. Still bad lifter noise, my dad saia bad cam I said I don't want to believe that but he's the pro not me. I pulled the intake and a couple rockers to find the same lifter completely wiped out (this being after the car was run here and there trying to adust valve etc).

So thats two new cams in a row & the same lifter. When I get info from the machine shop on what is causing this I will post the remedy.
Thanks all
Gary

Maybe that lifter bore has a problem.
You are using the Zinc GM EOS type of oil additive during brake in aren't you?

Nope, we used the lube that came with the Comp Cams kit & some G.M. Lube that my dad swears by for the rest of the engine, maybe thats the stuff, I'm not sure.
