I just got my 1/2" return fuel line installed, so I was able to pull out my dead head style regulator at the pump. I had it installed because my stock fuel line (as a return) wouldn't let the pressure at my carb get below 13 psi. So the pump is now totally freeflowing and it got a lot louder. I thought it would've got quieter, but guess I was wrong. I have 6" of rubber line on each side of the pump and rubber isolaters between the pump and frame(they are for mounting an oil tank to the frame of a Harley). Any other suggestions? It really buzzes good. ------------------ 1982 Ford F100 2wd Shortbox. Powered by a 357 Cleveland w/ stuffed closed chamber 4v's and a Funnelweb. HA!!!! Yup, doing that all ready. But, do you think its normal for it to get louder like that? Is it just cuz its pushing that much more fuel through it? ------------------ 1982 Ford F100 2wd Shortbox. Powered by a 357 Cleveland w/ stuffed closed chamber 4v's and a Funnelweb. The only way I have found to make any of the hi output fuel pumps quiet is to remove them from the vehicle and replace it with a mechanical pump. You should hear my Holley Dominator 350 pump growl when it runs. I can actually hear it over the open headers at idle.

you may want to look into using a better isolator.Instead of using the basic rubber with the stud running through it, you may want to try the rubber doughnuts from swaybar end links or the rubber from the tops of your rear shocks,

My belt drive pump doesn't make any noise at all! All seriousness aside (?) electric pumps are noisy.
