anyone have any feedback on these? Is it worth it or would subframe connectors be enough for a street/strip car? I have a 67 coupe http://www.mustangsplus.com/tech/chassis/index.html

I think weld-in sub-frame connectors are a GREAT idea. That project seems like a lot of work and overkill for a daily driver.------------------ William M&M# 4256 MCA# 64831 "Objects in mirror may mean they are losing". 68 Coupe 289 C4 3:55's/Trac-Lok

If you are doing a frame up build I would say go ahead. If not that is going to cost a lot of money. I have sub frame connectors and it feels pretty stout to me. I would think these mods are more useful for a built up convertible.

Welcome, I agree with Jaazzy this mod would work better for a convertible. This kit looks to stiffen the whole chassis but don't really tie in the rear subframe. For a street/strip car subframe connectors would work better. I used weld-in connectors from Tinman Fabrication and I'm happy with what it did. They are a solid heavy piece, if you are going with more of a strip car you might not want all that weight.------------------ Darryl Eichenlaub 1965 Mustang Coupe restomod 289,c4,body and interior mods. 1956 F-100 460,c6,9" major body mods, on going project. 1967 Mustang Fastback, father/son project 5.0,5spd,9". 1975 F250 4x4 Highboy 390,4spd,35",custom paint. 2002 Mustang v6,5spd, daughters college ride. 2001 Ford Escape, Wifes grocery getter. Thanks for the warm welcome. Since I've found this site I havent been able to tear myself away-alot of great info here. I have a 67 coupe that was my fathers. It was given to me as a graduation gift back in '93( dont be envious- it wasnt in that great of shape ha ha ) over the years the project has always taken the back burner to other things (house , kids ) Now I'm ready to get after her again. The car needs alot of work but the sentimental value is why I've held on to her all this time. I remember dad dustin off firebirds and camaros with it back when he owned it! Ha HA

" I remember dad dustin off firebirds and camaros with it back when he owned it! Ha HA" So am I correct to guess you have a 390 in your '67?
Welcome to the best and most infomative site on the web. I agree with the other guys. If you a doing a mild restoration, then don't bother with subframe connectors, but if it is a convertible or you decide to build a monster motor for it, then by all means you will feel the difference. Charlie

No actually its a 289!!! Thats what was great about it. Those mid 80's F-bodys never knew what hit em. It had a holley 600 an old school weiend? intake manifold , headers and a shift kit in the c-4 tranny. He bought the car this way so we were never really sure what it had in it.Years later when I tore it down, I discovered the block had been punched .30 over w/ flat tops the cam was stamped " LUNATI 280 " on the end and the thing had 4.11 gears in the 8"!!!! All this in a lime gold coupe w/blacked out 14 "steel wheels w/ chrome trim rings and teeny 215/70 tires, lol The car DEFINED the word SLEEPER!!!it was awesome[This message has been edited by stangbanger67 (edited 07-12-2006).]

Welcome to M&M, THE BEST Mustang Forum there is!!! That system looks like WAY TOO MUCH $$ and work to install. Maier Racing has a pretty good looking set of sub frame connectors that bolt in at multiple locations, both front and back (stiffer than most out there that only attach at one place each end) & could probably be welded in to/instead. I've been leaning towards them for my GT350H clone for street cruising and occasional open track stuff.------------------ 66 GT350H clone 302, Holley 600, Tri-Y headers, Flowmasters, power front disc brakes.

Love those small blocks. I remember seeing my first Shelby. The guy rolls into the show with a '65 GT-350 with the glasspacks and side exit exhausts. I am about twelve and hear this deep powerful exhaust and ask the driver as he gets out "is that a big-block?" Charlie
