I know this has been gone over to death many times but... after installing small block springs out of my other Cougar and having the ride height higher than the Moroso's with a full coil cut out (which was high) I'm not happy. I just want to buy the right springs, band them for a week and install them. Don't want to have to add spacers or cut 1/2 coil out either way. It looks like from the specs the 8088 will have a lower ride height and slightly less spring rate then the 8306. My rear end is up a bit for tire clearance and I have Hooker race headers hanging low so I don't want it real low in the front. I don't want it up in the air either to where I don't have enough travel and weight transfer. I have aluminum heads, intake, water pump and radiator, battery in the trunk. This is a Cougar so the grill adds weight compared to a Mustang. Which spring do I buy? Thanks

Hey XR7, I had to cut 1/2 coil from the 8306 springs on my 69. Got a FE with Al heads and intake. The race headers would be kinda low though. I would guess about 2 inches of ground clearance on my car at this height.

How much lower would the 8088 springs be then the 8306 as far as ride height? They have a free height 1 1/8" shorter then the 8306. AFRET, how much did it lower your ride height by cutting 1/2 coil out? Thanks

IIRC cutting 1/2 coil dropped the front a bit over 1/2 inch. It has since settled another 1/2 inch or so.
