Is it a bad idea to reuse a cam and lifter set when you rebuild an engine? I'm more concerned with roller lifter cams than hydraulic.

You can re-use a roller cam and lifters as many times as you like. You can re-use a flat tappet cam as long as the lifters remain on the lobes they were broken in on.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,'03,'04 &'05 First NHRA & IHRA 289 automatic Superstock Mustang in the TENS 06-99 First SS/MA in the TENS 04-03 IHRA division 5 Superstock Champion Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked." Thanks Alex. Is this a viable option for converting a flat tappet block to a roller block?

Let me just say that I am not a fan of hydraulic roller cams and/or any of the retro fit kits. If you have a late model roller block and want to stay with that configuration, that's fine. I have not yet found a juice roller grind that can keep up with my favorite solid flat tappet choices. So, if you really want the "performance" benifits of a roller cam, I suggest that you save up and get a solid roller kit.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,'03,'04 &'05 First NHRA & IHRA 289 automatic Superstock Mustang in the TENS 06-99 First SS/MA in the TENS 04-03 IHRA division 5 Superstock Champion Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked."
