Heres the one I'm looking at http://www.currieenterprises.com/cestore/productsRE.aspx?id=1576 What recommendations do you have for the carrier, gears, pinion support, etc? Where can I get the shock mounting plates? or are they the same? This car will see plenty of drag strip time, and I do not want to do this job again. ------------------ 65 fastback. 302, Paxton Supercharger 7PSI, Edelbrock heads and intake, comp cam, Motorsport rockers, flowtechs with cutouts, x pipe and 2.5in flowmasters. currently a 3.00 open rear. I run a stock housing with gears, locker and axles. It's pretty bulletproof. It sees nothing but track time these days with runs in the high 11s when I squeeze it.The Currie stuff is nice, but probably overkill.

Are you having them Narrow it any? for bigger tires? ------------------ JS Life`s journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well-perserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "holysh....t what a ride!!!" 69 Mustang Pro ET Drag

No. Stock Length. I can fit a 9 inch wide slick with no problems, and I don't want to cut this car up. ------------------ 65 fastback. 302, Paxton Supercharger 7PSI, Edelbrock heads and intake, comp cam, Motorsport rockers, flowtechs with cutouts, x pipe and 2.5in flowmasters. One thing to keep in mind, the aftermarket housings, Currie, Moser, Strange will all have full 3" tubing to the axle flanges. Your original shock plates and shelby underrides will have to be replaced or modified to fit, assuming you have a necked down original housing. Just drop another $350-400 and go with Cal-tracs or CE slide a links. I know the Slide a links are machined for the 3" housing, I have a Moser housing under my 65 coupe.Mike

What about the carrier? Nodular? Strange? Should I go with the large pinion bearing?I will probably ditch the shelby traction bars. What brand of gears are you guys running? Auburn? Detroit Locker? Traction Lock? This car is mainly driven on the street, but will see some track time, and hopefully more horsepower in the future. I run a stock carrier, Richmond gears and a Detroit Locker...The locker took a bit of getting used to on the street, but it is dead on for straight line launches.
