Reading another post I noticed someone wanting 1 3/4 headers . I'm planning on ordering headers soon myself and wondered witch size to shoot for, Would I want 1 5/8 or 1 3/4" The application will be going on a 70 Mach 1 351w, toploader. Edl.RPM intake Edl.RPM heads ported-polished, 650 holly carb. Comp cam 270 H. Hopefully producing just under 400HP does that sound like I'm in the ball park? NOW what diamiter headers ? Thanks in advance Sodi

The HP sounds real close. I'd stay with the 1 5/8 unless your doing a lot of drags. I have the exact same motor build and parts with 10-1 compression. I use the 1 5/8 headers. ------------------ oddly obsessed with big scoops on little MustangsHOOD HACKERS DELIGHT! My Pics [This message has been edited by Fastymz (edited 01-28-2006).]

Use the 1 5/8 headers, 1 3/4 is more or less higher rpm stuff. The whole idea is to keep the exhaust gas velocity up.
