im new at this so I cant comment on your combo exactly, but I was wondering if u used the air gap intake before. I have a weiand stealth on my combo because I got a hell of a deal on it, but my first choice was the air gap because i heard alot of good things about it. Also, the gt40p's are good heads for the money.

Mike, I'd start with a 600vs carb. Then more gear and stall.------------------ oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs HOOD HACKERS DELIGHT! My Pics [This message has been edited by Fastymz (edited 01-28-2006).]

STock stall is probably around 1800, you'd do a little better with a 2400-2600 range. You could go a little bigger on the cam, I just put a .499 lift cam in my 289 and it still seems docile, at idle anyway (haven't run it on the street yet) Holley Street Avenger 570 of standard Holley 600 with vacuum secondaries. GT40 iron heads yes, GT40P no, I don't like that you can't use standard small block headers with the GT40P heads. Get the Mac Equal Length shorties if you're set on running shorties, otherwise spring for the full length tubes with an X-pipe. What kind of Cobra mufflers? I cut open some off a 94 and was surprised how jammed they were with restrictions. Don't forget the rear end gear, its just about the biggest improvement for the money.

i got 327 gears now. scott, i have a set of mac long tubes and an x-pipe that will fit them. they are for a early 80s mustang, just wondering if they will fit the 83 ltd wagon. i know i need more stall but i just dont want to get that deep right now. dont know about the mufflers, they were on it when i got it.------------------ mike r racing is real everything else is just a game. 81 capri-302-7.25 @93mph 1/8 1.54 60ft 50 % of the fun dragracing is meeting people who will give you the shirt off their back to wipe the grease off your hands. i think the torque converter i have is about 1000 over stock so if stock is 1800, then i would be about 2800. I think its tci breakaway convter

scott u are correct about the headers for the gt40p, they are a pain and more exspense is involved in getting headers too fit

Mike not over a 600cfm or maybe smaller, also look at a smaller intake duel plain, if you are using the stock converter & shorty headers
