302 and 351w heads are for the most part interchangeable.
Some variations in valve size, combustion chamber, rocker arm attachement have occured over the years, but they are certainly usable on either engine.

I have an older ('93) FMS catalog which lists a bare aluminum head as # M-6049-J302.

1. Cast from 356-T6 high strength aluminum.
2. Machined for 1.94" int and 1.60" exh.
3. Machined for threaded rocker studs.
4. Exhaust has extra bolt pattern.
5. 58 cc chamber.
6. Int port volume 170cc
7. Exh port volume 60cc
8. Uses Motorcraft AG series plugs.

Apparently, you buy the valves and valvetrain components separately to install on this bare head part number.

Those would be the original design Ford Motorsport/Alan Root heads i think.

I was visiting Root's shop in California on the way to Pomona and he showed me the blueprints the year before they became available, they were going to be called "Pro1" heads and have Bob Glidden's signature. That didn't materialize. At the time there weren't any aftermarket heads available for smallblock Fords so it seemed pretty revolutionary.
