Valve springs may be weak. Good springs solved my mystery lay down last year.

Thanks for the reply, Iam uesing Edelbrock RPM heads that are 2 years old, But your right it acks like valve float i once had that problem with a hydraulic cam, Now its a soild lift cam.I just got done puttung the motor back togather i had a crack in the CID.wall and bought a new short block, And never had that problem with the old block. The only thing is differant is the old motor had 10.5.1 comp. now its 10.1 compression. I just came in and took all the plugs out and did a compression check they all look good 165-170.The #1 CID. plug is full of gas? Iam going to take the valve cover off and what i find, Thanks Ronnie

I doubt the springs are the cause,at least I would hope not.A wet plug will cause your high rpm miss.Hope it's as simple as that.Let us know the outcome.
