I'm gonna pull the Ford Racing OEM style hyd roller lifters out of engine and replace them with something that doesn't collapse. Do I go with a true solid roller or with the modified hyd roller lifters from Schubeck/Sherman? The only advantage I see of the modified juice lifters is the fact that there is a tiny bit of cushion and my pushrods will work. The advantage I see with the solid is weight, never ever going to pump up or collapse-at all, and they seem more performance orientated. What would you guys do?

EDIT: By the way, this will be on a cam that is 242/[email protected], 285/287 advertised, 0.640" lift and mainly street driven.

I dont know how a solid lifter will work with your cam. It might chew it up. I run a solid cam in my motor .650 lift. Had to change the dist. Gear to a bronze one. So I am thinking the cam must be ground out of different materials. I could be wrong. I am no expert. I just never have heard of any one switch lifters from hydrolic to solid before. With the solids you also get to adjusted them every once in awhile. I hope someone on the forum can answer your questions. I dont think my answer helped you out any more then confuse you more.

Dave, my cam is ground on a billet blank so it the same one they use for solid rollers. When Mark ground it, he said that he put the lash ramps into so it can be converted over to solid roller. The dyno guy tonight said that solid rollers will show a 20-30hp increase over the hyd rollers. I think I'm going to do it.
