Finally able to take the car to the local strip since the 331 went in this year. Car is a 65 fastback, C4. Only had time to make 2 runs, the had to leave, but here are the numbers:1st pass: 1.96 60ft 1/8th ET 8.15 @ 89.82 1/4 ET 12.58 @ 111.82 shifted at 6000 2nd pass 1.99 60ft 1/8th 8.30 @ 88.42 14 12.79 @ 110.39 shift 1-2 @ 6000, shifted early 2-3 @ 4500 because I'm a dumba$$ and was all nervous and jerky. What a blast. I was hoping for mid to low 13s, but was stunned by what ran. I knew the car had it (403 hp @ 6000 on the dyno) but I didn't think I could hook and go. The slide-a-links and MT Drag radials made a huge difference in traction. Thanks to all the great posts here, I think I put together a great combination. Thank you for answers over the years, and also to answers to others questions, I learned quite a bit by just reading from the sidelines. Can't wait to get to the track again!

Wow, great numbers! Your first pass was almost identical to my best to date. I'm running BFG Drag Radials (only because I got a rediculous deal on a set of stickers) but once I consume them, I'll be mounting a set of the MT's. Tell me about your deal! If max power is at 6000 rpm, you should be shifting a little above that for best et. Try shifting around 6300 rpm or so.I'd say you have enough power to dip into the 11's (or at least really low 12's) if everything gets optimized. A looser converter to get a good 60ft, and shifting it up higher might do it on a good day. Great times Mike's post has you covered in the better foot times question. Cut those times down a couple tenths and you'll be in the low 12's easy.------------------ oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 65 coupe 351w C4 Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8" 3.40 TracLoc. My Pics

a set of 4.10 gears should be worth a few tenths!! ------------------ mike r racing is real everything else is just a game. 81 capri-302-7.25 @93mph 1/8 1.54 60ft 50 % of the fun dragracing is meeting people who will give you the shirt off their back to wipe the grease off your hands.
