OKay guys, I managed to kill my small block Toploader input shaft, and am intending to move to a Big block input. I'm replacing the input shaft, front bearing retainer, front bearing, the needle bearings that sit inside the end of the input, the throwout bearing....
Are there any gotcha's to doing this?
Its going behind a 351C with an 11" diaphragm clutch, and was just a plain old wide ratio small block toploader.

You must get an aftermarket input shaft for a wide ratio big spline small block. I use the dan williams modular input, he claims they are just about unbreakable when properly set-in. I used my stock clutch fork and had it cut, widen and welded to fit the big t-bearing. You might as well get a 31 spline output shaft and tail housing while your in there.

Well, I measured the spigot on the new input, and its the same length as the smallblock input... 1 1/8" long spigot. Its the Aftermarket one that Kajun Jon in Texas sell.
Clutch fork is being modified to suit, was *brand* new about 100miles ago
