I dont know if it's just my part of the country or what but the faster you go the more people you pi$$ off.Doesn't matter wether it's ford, chebbie or dodge.Does this happen in your parts of the country.Got a dude here that's pestering me to race for 3 thousand dollars on the street.Told him lets go to the track and race for bragging rights, nothing else.He had an excuss why he cant go to the track.Cant get a baby sitter. One last question please....Is there any way to tell from a time slip wether the run was a car or motorcycle.Sorry for the long post.

Here its the same thing, only difrence is they yell at you instead of asking you to race!

i actualy had some one throw **** at my car because he thought it was going to fast!

unfortunatly we have a BiG track but no drag or 1/4 mile, it would realy help out alot keeping people off the streets

I have been hearing complaints about being "too fast" for about 35 years now and I don't suspect it will stop anytime soon.

A bike will have a exceptionally quick 60 and 330 foot time in relation to the rest of the ET.
If you give me all of the numbers I can probably tell you if it is a car or bike.

Yeah same here, the other night I had a guy calling me all kinds of names because I wouldn't race him.
Some times it's more fun not to race these nuts. That way they'll never know, and it's kinda fun watching them get so upset.
I'm trying REAL hard to not race on the street any more. It's something I've done since I was 16 years old. So it's hard habit to break.

i think im the opposite. my area there are few bad cars and when they come out it is on weekends. i drive my 66 around all over( used to) it was my daily driver. it gets pretty loud for a six cylinder. and doesnt sound to shabby according to alot of people who cant belive theres a six under the hood. in that respect nobody races me ever. i dont try to race on the street i dont pick fights but all the little ricers must think it is one bad car. till im on the highway and some retart in a beatup volvo smokes me and cant belive it . the people who try to race me are always people in beaters who think they will get beat and just want to screw around. now with the tbird people seem to flock and want to race. i say no way let me put my roll cage in and then take it to the track... they look at me and say damn. lol ijust love having fun with people

In my area if you are in an old muscle car or even an old American car thet looks like it might be fast, the ricers are scared to race you. And those who will race you always scream and holler for a few grand a race or pink slips. Interesting though one time in the Cougar I ran across one of those who wanted to race for pinks, I was able to talk him into racing just for fun. Kid had the typical ricer Honda, big wing, bumble be exhaust the works, Well we lined up me and my 289 him and his little riceburner... light turned green we took off I wound out 1st on the C4 and shifted to 2nd and that was all she wrote. Pulled over after the race and he pulled up and said I would never have beat him if I didn't hit the NOS!!! I me? I have no NOS on this car i said.. BS says he, so I pop the hood and tell him to show me where it is. Dude turned WHITE!!!! Told him what he thought was NOS was me hittnd 2nd gear...Every since nobody seems to want to race me anymore. Ricers are Fodder

hence the name

ty ty

feel free to read my lovely poem dedicated to those poor bling blinded ricer jockeys

**father forgive them for they know not what they do**

------------------
see them buzz by
exhausts like bumble bee's
go round the next corner.. they're wrapped round a tree
ricer, dear ricer, when will you learn
you race the big blocks you're gonna get burned
two shots of NOS and what's that you say? your engine is blown.. you'll be back another day?
don't waste your time, your cash or energy.. until you get a real car you'll never touch me

Standing in front of a judge and losing your license will cure you pretty quick. Been there. Done that!

I learned my lesson.

As much as I used to race on the street, I can't condone it any more. It's illegal and dangerous. Dont' do it! Period!

Hey Prostreeter what are you running and what times @ bandimere? I'm from Lakewood and I get the same ol' crap day after day. I love to uncap my headers and really piss off people. So what wants to race you? I know theres a really fast camero that runs 10.70's and bandimere, that is street driven.

Maybe I'll see ya at bandimere. I'll be up there wednesday and friday.

If caught racing on the streets here, you now lose your car to the wrecking ball.

Hey JJonesy99,
Running a 69 Mach 1 pro street with a real radical cleveland.Maybe you've seen it.It's called "Bad Attitude".I'm still dialing the motor in as it's brand new and the best time was 12 flat so far.I'm sure you know how hard it is to go fast way up here.I've done some mods and I'm pretty sure I can get it into the mid to upper 11's.One guy that's pissed abt the times I'm running has a late model supercharged mustang.he says he runs 10.50 next day it's 10.80 and the next it's 11.20.He cant keep his story straight.I've seen his time slips of 10.50 but I'm sure that was for his motorcycle.
The Camaro you mention,is it red?
I think I know who your talking abt and his name is Alan.He has a big block 472ci and he's also p/o'd at me.everytime I see him at the cruise nite he want to race.Noway will I do that on the street. What car/times are you running.I'll be there wednesday nite for test/tune as I want to check out what the mods have done.Want to get this done before the ALL FORD show and race. Will you be going to the that on the 26th?

Prostreeter: Yeah the air is very thin and it really sucks. I have a 66' white stang with a 408w. I ran last week for the first time and made two runs of 12.32 & 12.34 before i got a hole in the radiator. I hope to get in the high 11.90's before the end of the year. Thats a good number for a daily driver, in this altitude, and driven to the track... I think. I'll definitly look for ya on wednesday night. We gotta turn some faces.

Ben, after working for 2 years with the Reno PD. I got a new understanding of how unsafe street racing is.
I know all about standing in front of a judge losing your license. It just wasn't me who lost the license. I also have seen some bad wrecks. Some who lost their life.
When I say street racing now, I mean more like a stop light drags. When no other cars are around and only getting the car up to the speed limit. We have plenty of wide open back roads around me. I'm not saying thats better, but it's not doing 100mph in traffic, or while people line the streets to watch.

"The ricers are the worst around here. They never stop trying to race you."

haha around here all they do is mouth off about how fast their blinged-out ricejets are but when you challenge them, they got a million excuses why they cant race- "my bottles empty" or "no ice for the intercooler" etc. like thatll make a 16 sec 4-banger into a 11 "fast and the furious" special. sounds like your 10 sec mustang buddies got the same illness

Jason, will you be going to the all ford show?lets try and hook up.You are absolulty right abt this thin air.I was reading some archived post and one in particular was posted by kid vishus. He said a friend of his from Iowa I think drove 1500 miles to denver to go 2 seconds slower.I've even seen bandimere altitude at 8500 to 10,500 with the air density. No wonder people hate racing here.I had thought abt putting a 80hp shot of nos on the car but with thin walled C's could be dangerous.I beleive I can get it into the mid 11's without nos and it's a street driven show/race car i'll be happy.
