The FRPP catalog lists permanent magnet mini-starters for small block Fords that fit "most 289/302/351W/351C engines except 164 tooth manual flywheels". I have a 164 tooth manual flywheel (351C part). I have a foggy recollection of discussing this once before with someone (maybe Alex?) and was told you could use the BBF version in that application. I don't recall if it was the manual or automatic version that would work. Does this ring a bell with anyone? I looked through the 2005 FRPP catalog and don't see the M-11000-A75 of M-11000-B75 BBF starters listed anymore. Thanks, Dan Jones

Powermaster 9404 works perfect with a quick clock change. Put one in Scott H's buddy Steve's 72 351C 4 speed Mach. Better that that... the factory mini starter for a 302-351 and 300 truck with manual. Same as the 5.0 car starter except the nose has the right depth for the older stick flywheel.

That will work also, but sometime difficult to come by and can/will interfere with headers on a 351C.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,'03,'04 &'05 First NHRA & IHRA 289 automatic Superstock Mustang in the TENS 06-99 First SS/MA in the TENS 04-03 IHRA division 5 Superstock Champion Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked." Thanks. I'm not in the market for a starter. I already have one that's verified to fit the Pantera (Pantera headers are very different from Mustang headers). It's a Ford part but I didn't know the original application. Dan Jones
