According to the G-TECH pro I'm using. When I shift at 5000rpm the motor drops back down to 3800rpm at both shifts. Isn't that to much of a drop?

Sounds like kinda a small drop for a 3speed auto car to me. Do you have a high stall converter or is it because you shift at fewer RPMs 5,000 instead of the 6,600 to 4,000 drop I was thinking would be normal.

(for example, watch your car shift automatically when cruising. It may go from 2600 to 2000, a drop of 600!)

Ron,,

I'm not sure about your question,, just thought I'd share a Shift Light Story with you..

On my trip to the Reno & Sonoma,, I purchased a Shift Light at Summit.. Used it while racing at Infineon,, and it worked pretty good..

Got home and took 6T6 for a ride one NIGHT and got on it a bit.. I had forgot about the shift light and when the rpm's hit the mark the light came on and Wholly Smoke I thought the dash blew up..

The light it Intense at Night.. Now I know why they keep the covers on them..

LOL
Same thing here, the first night I had my car out. With the large shift light pointed right into my face. When I hit the shift point and that thing lite up the whole inside of the car I thought I blew the motor.
I've since turned so it's pointed right into my eyes. I keep the cover handy too.

The stall is about 2400rpm. I was thinking closer to 1000-1500rpm would be bettter?
