I did a few 1/8th mile test runs and one run to the 1000 foot mark. Here is what I got 60ft 2.566 330ft 5.99 1/8th 8.68 @ 94.7 (my best time with old motor 10.3 @ 71mph 1000ft 10.94 0-60mph 4.75 0-100 9.41 What do you guys think? Also I had a short race with the guy who has the 55chevy I have talked about before. We ran for about 500 feet. He killed me off the line a good half a car or more. But I got him by a good 1.5 cars. ------------------ oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 65 coupe 351w C4 Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8" 3.40 TracLoc. My Pics

Two more runs this monring. Best 60 foot times was from leaving real easy and rolling into the gas. 2.36 60' 6.1 330' 0-60mph 5.4 The only times that got better where the 60 foot times. So what would you guys think the best 60's I could get with my street tires? ------------------ oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 65 coupe 351w C4 Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8" 3.40 TracLoc. How does the 1/8th mile times and MPH look? Also is that why the 0-60mph are so slow because of the bad 60' times? What would be the best 60' foot times with some sticky street tires? I'd like to see 1.90-2.0 ------------------ oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 65 coupe 351w C4 Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8" 3.40 TracLoc. My Pics

The mph is way too high for the e.t.The e.t calculates to mid 13's The mph calc's to high 11's at 118 mph, with crappy traction. I think I believe the e.t more than the mph. SteveW

Scoop definetly sounds like you need some tires. On back to back runs at the strip I cut almost a half second off of my 60fts and 9/ths of of my Et.I changed from 70 series BFG TAs to G-60-15 McCreary's.These tires have been the absolute best bang for the buck I have ever boughten and their pretty outdated these days.------------------ 1968 mustang j-code sprint.13.69@101 306cu.in, stock ported heads, weiand exellerator,650 holley DP,hedman hedders, comp 292 Magnum cam,4-speed,8 inch 4.11 detroit locker http://mustangsandmore.50megs.com/MembersPics/mustangboy.html

I'm saving for some MT drag radials. I still need about another two weeks. "Yeah, until you start thinking about mid 12's...11's.." Joe, I've driven my car a lot in the last 3 days. Tonight on the way home. I was already looking for more power. Mid 13's is an ok starting point.
I put about 40 pounds of stuff in the trunk. Filled the gas tank all the way up. That seemed to help a little off the line, and almost got ride of 2nd gear spin. ------------------ oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 65 coupe 351w C4 Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8" 3.40 TracLoc. Hey Ron, sounds like you've got your carb dialed in! Now the challenge ('cause you know it ain't a problem, just the next step) is the, "Getting it to the Ground" issue... Isn't this a great hobby - it's got to be better than golf! Ryan

Ryan, part of the problem with the carb was the cold weather. It doesn't seem to like being cold kinda like me. The car does idle and run real nice now, once it's warmed up. For traction I'm going to try some 245-60-15 MT DOT drag radials. Try adjusting my lift bars. And get some rear shocks.------------------ oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 65 coupe 351w C4 Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8" 3.40 TracLoc. My Pics

CORRECTION! Thanks to the generosity of one of our members I purchased it thru M&M's classified section, not Ebay. Best place to start is with our own members. Thanks again to KYLE.
