I've replaced everything on the front end of my 67 Mustang Big Block car, and put in the Moroso coils. I cut 1/2 a coil as per another Mustang guy, and now the car is way high and almost completely solid. Should I have cut more, or do you think I have another problem. I'm removing them now (no easy task) and will check for binding elsewhere. Any suggestions from others that have used these springs appreciated.. Thanks

What are you trying to accomplish? By cutting off coils, you will lower AND stiffen the front end....... Ryan ------------------ '69 Mach I; 306"/4-spd; drag racer. make sure the coil springs are seated properly up top and at the perch ,twist until the end of the spring is at the tab stop on the perch.also when you remove coil , you're increasing your spring rate, And when you change your ride height, you need to re-align your front end.

Those moroso springs didnt work for me either. (68 428 fb) If you cut the coils to lower it, you wind up with a short stiff spring. I got rid of them and used 6yl springs instead. $40. pr from NPD. Make sure that your spring perches rotate freely.

We've used Moroso springs for quite some time - we never cut them - they will settle. Car is not light with iron heads.------------------ Fred 68 Mustang 500CID/Powerglide - "No Tubs" 86 Mustang GT Cobra

Posi-67; Tie down the front end and collapse the springs as much as you can, Leave it for a week. This will take all the settlement out of them, You will probably still have to cut them but when you do they won't settle any more.------------------ 1964-1/2 Mustang SS/L 289 4-Speed, 10.537 @ 124.83. Thanks for the replies.. I haven't been able to locate my spring compressor, so I haven't got them out yet, but I still think I have a problem, other than the springs. I checked the part # and I've got the correct ones, and Moroso instructions said they should be good out of the box, but you could cut 1/4 to 1 full coil to get desired ride height. This doesn't affect spring rate. As it is now, the car is probably more than 2" over stock, so I doubt it'll settle that much.I know a guy who runs a B/SA Mustang, and 1/2 coil out makes his car just about right. That's why I started there. I just don't understand why it didn't settle at all, even with the weight of the motor in. I am reluctant to cut them more, so need to see what else is going on first. I'll let you know if I find anything. Thanks for the info!! Posi

Do not cut them anymore. They need to be collapsed for at lest a week.

Dont do what I did. I cut 1/4 coil, set it down, test drove it, and thought it could use some more.so I cut another 1/4 coil, set it down, test drove it, and found my perfect ride height. Until a week later when they dicided to settle, I was about an inch lower than I wanted. Had to remove them, purchase new ones and start over. Let them settle.
