I was told today that you could stroke a 351w using 350 chevy pistons and 318 dodge rods. Is this true or are they laying it on thick? Is there anyway to stroke a 302 with stock parts like this? Ive been told so many different things by several people and thought id ask. thanks------------------ 68 fairlane500 fastback 302 hi performance 83 f150 5.0 street rod

I am not a racer but I have read several car mags where people have used cranks from 351C in the 351W after they had it slightly machined to fit so in theory you could use a 351M/400M crank because they are the same as the 351C I do believe if however I am wrong please some let me know seeing that I am only 33 and have never taken apart a 351W, C, M engines.

It's easier than using Chebby and Slowpar parts.A 3.850 stroker crank combined with stock windsor rods and 302 pistons will get you 393cu. No need for the X brand junk! ------------------ Ben Grabber Green '70 Mach I 351C 4V Robbin Egg Blue '79 Fairmont 408C 4V, 10.50 127 MPH

That?s the way it was done a while back. I think they would take a 351C or a 400M crank and grind it down to fit the 351W mains and the offset grind the rod journals to fit the Mopar rods. It?s just easier and cheaper to get a stroker crank and 302 pistons as mentioned.------------------ Ed S. 68 S-code FB GT 4spd(now C6)/3.25 PS PDB 68 J-code(now 289) Cp Sprint"B" C4/3L00-9" PDB PS AC Bla-Bla-Bla 99 F150 XLT Ext/cab, 4X4, 5.4L, 3L55

Yes, it is true. You can use a stock 351w crank and offset grind it along with a Chrysler rod.You have to resize the wrist pin end to accept the chevy pin and piston. The combination will result in 377 cubic inches.

Hot Rod Mag did a build up back in the early 80's the exact way Ron is describing. I'm sure I still have the mag. somewhere, I never through out car mags.------------------ Mark Nishwitz Sin City Performance Houston, Ohio `66 Mustang 351C OSCA Mild Street
