finally go my car finished.now i am doing some track testing.the engine is a 270 inch ford svo v-6 that made 510 hp on the dyno.my car is a 1984 thunderbird and the weight is 2600 lbs.with driver.so far it has run (4)10.60 et@126mph and about 6 slower runs my problem seems to be that the speed/power calculator said i should be running at least 10.0 @130+,it also said my final 1/4 mile rpm should be 7400 rpm base on the 126 mph.but it is going thur the lights at 8000 rpm.can anyone tell me if i have a problem with to much convertor slip,or is that my little engine is not making the power the dyno said it should be making.

Is the trans a PG? If so, that's a big part of it. Is the HP CHP or the in the room number? 126 shows a lot less HP on my slide rule and calculator. Based on your numbers my calculator comes up with about 431 HP. It never lies. Sorry.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,'03,'04 &'05 First NHRA & IHRA 289 automatic Superstock Mustang in the TENS 06-99 First SS/MA in the TENS 04-03 IHRA division 5 Superstock Champion Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked." yes it is a powerglide with 1.96 and a 8 inch 6400 stall convertor.yes it is in the room dyno test.and ALEX do you no if the convertor could be slipping to much on the top end,it appears the rpm is about 400 or 500 to high for my 31 inch tall tire and 5.67 gear.i will be going to track again tomorrow to see if things or still the same. and do you know how much horsepower a powerglide eats up.
