Had a great time and got to visit with some west coast M&M'rs. Stewart, Tim, Jay, Glen, just to mention a few. Melissa had to go to a softball tourney and couldn't make it. Stew's Lightning runs pretty good! Glen's 67 is a killer as usual and he made the final round in street class, also as usual. Mel's Mustang did great, even with my big butt in the seat, probally .15 slower than its normal ETs. And we all had a blast! I got to break in the new slicks and pay for them with prize money too.

Awesome! You took first, yes?

I had such a blast! I got in 11 runs, and I'd still be there running if they let me!

Yeah, my Lightning ran ok. I wish it were as fast as my buddy's '99. We have the same modifications, but my truck has always been slower than his!

He was running 13.1's all day, my fastest run was 13.66. I had a couple 13.7's too, but mainly, I was stuck in the 13.8's with a fairly consistant speed of 98mph.

Thanks Steve for all your pointers at the track. And thanks everyone here who posted up help!

Alex, you nailed my times!

Meeting up with everyone was great and the weather today was beautiful! I was the lone loser not running a car but it was still fun. Seeing Steve/Mels '66 and Glen's '67 has renewed my want to do the v8 swap in the '65 (thanks a lot guys ).

Stewart,

Yeah I got lucky.
Got a bye into the final, and cut .0 teen lights the final three rounds. I ran a blown 5.0 in the final that dialed 11.55 against my 10.92, but runs slow in the 1/8 and comes on strong on the top end. He had a .104 light to my .014 and I caught him just after 1/2 track, so I started fender racing him just staying in front. Then he started closing the gap on the top end so I got back in it and took the stripe by 1/2 car or so. His trap speed was 121 and mine was 118. When my win light went on I was pretty jacked up.
Glad you had fun Stew! It's a pretty cool way to spend a Sunday isn't it.

Tim,

Yes, glad we could help! You may want to wait until you're an attorney to afford this addiction though. But, then again you'll probably just be happy to cruise around in your Porshe. NOT!

Lol! I still remember back in '93 I was in Denver walking along the sidewalk back towards the car I came in and this guy pulls up in front of this business office in his '68 Shelby GT500KR vert. There were some Japanese tourists and the guy let them take pictures with the car. I was with a friend of the family who didnt really know what the car was but told me as the guy walked in "that's a $300 tie"

Steve great job. It must have been real cool to take home some money.

I've always wondered what it's like to have that much air the front tires.

Ron and Tim,

Thanks, It really didn't feel like much. I was wedged into that little seat and strapped in so tight. When I let go of the button the front end went up, but the car runs straight as an arrow. Not like my car that has to be piloted down the 1/4 mile. This car is good, except when it's time to stop. I gotta work on that.
